Why don’t you stop and figure out what you having this knee jerk reaction to and why. Then you can move forward with your success. Romance will be in the air this afternoon but it is platonic. I have always thought Napoleon was the master at orchestrating things. Last night I discovered Purrbah has some Machiavellian tendencies. First he scared poor Bat the Cat half to death and I had to let him out of the bedroom. Then he lured Indi onto the satellite box I don’t use and pushed the button destroying my reception until I crawled over and turned it off. Indi got tossed out. Then he dropped a comforter on Napoleon and he had to be let out of the room to recover. Then Purrbar curled up on my legs and went happily to sleep, his work was done. Yup, he is smart.
Even in Florida we had bad days. It is one of those cloudy, spitty days. It’s not raining enough to get us out of the red flag fire warning area but enough to make you miserable.
I heard a good one on Public radio. Have you heard about Zombie Banks? They are dead but they keep eating our money.
Seriously folks, how can something that is now charging every 28% and above on credit card balances be losing money? What are they doing with it? Can I get in on it? Just be rest assured, I will remember what banks and companies treated me nicely and when this over, there will be a purge and a revolution. AMEX has already found that out, as did DiscoverCard. And don’t fall for the envelop you get saying 0% interest forever. It is for less than four months and then they have the right to charge you anything they want. It is in the really, really tiny print. My Virgo has a magnifying glass and he found it. Transfer a balance and you may wind up paying more than you were paying before.
Did you know that the “fence” between Mexico and us is costing over one million dollars a mile? I really want to see that fence because I’ve got one here that no one tries to jump and it didn’t cost nearly that much. Wouldn’t it be cheaper to just cut every Mexican a check and hand them out at the border? Here’s 50.00. Go home. Come back next week. I’m serious. For what we spend in stupid immigration efforts we could feed and cloth whole countries. If we had just cut checks to every Iraqi, our boys would be alive and at least the check printing industry would be doing great. Can anyone imagine paying half a mil for a bomb? It’s just going to blow up. There will be nothing left. I at least want a light show, some dancing guys and proof of a hit for that kind of money. Heck, for that kind of money, we can buy the target and have change left. By now we would own Iraq. Just imagine. You roll into town and say - we can bomb you into the ground or you can take this check and sign over your hovel. People would be packing and traveling. Problem solved. Happy, wealthy, full people are not going to fight. Hey, we might offer to buy their next house. No one is going to kill the golden goose. Think about it. Now some might say I am a naïve idealist. I say anyone who thinks you can kill an idea or belief with a bomb is a naïve idiot. It’s like a virus. You spread it that way. People come out to see what the fuss was about and viola, converts! Give them dinner and a movie and they start figuring out how to get that again.
