Forcast and Faery Finder for 10/17/09

10-17-09
Forecast and Faery Finder
By Janice Scott-Reeder and the Bitwit

Message from the Microwits: The Mamma is only eating green things. What are we supposed to steal? We have the food place perfect. We can fly to the sink and stove. We can get in the cold box. Now there is nothing but horrible green stuff. HELP!

Message from the Mamma: I don’t think my new diet agrees with the Microwits. Fiona sits in the cat log and demands to smell every dish as I go by. She is sort of wrinkling her nose and refusing to check it out. Even the herbed, onion and lemon fish last night didn’t appeal to her. Could it have been the lemon and onion? The Mamma smiles evilly.

According to Llewellyn’s Spell-a-Day Almanac, today’s color is Blue and the incense is Sandalwood. That is a most relaxing combination is the blue is light and an authoritative one if the blue is dark or navy. See how color affects mood!

FORECASTS:

Deck: Navigators Tarot of the Mystic Sea.

Today’s Tarot Card is the Five of Swords: destruction. There is strong loss of trust with this card as you have been playing too fast and loose with promises of assistance to everyone. You have spread yourself way too thin or you never intended to make good on your vows. This is the time to learn the value of saying no and how to budget the energy you have, not be a people pleaser or stop conning people into trusting you as it now returns to roost in your house. Then and only then, should you make any promises and only then can you regain the trust you have lost. If you are the one who has found themselves high and dry whether out of misplaced trust or laziness, it’s time to learn the Home Depot Lesson of the Universe: Do it Yourself!

Astrological Source: Llewellyn’s 2007 Daily Planetary Guide.
Astrologically:
The New Moon occurs in the Pacific Daylight Time Zone at 10:33 PM. It also goes void of course at the same time in Libra. You will need to rethink issues concerning beauty, justice, fairness, partnerships and social events before proceeding forward with new projects.
Afternoon is an excellent time to make money, expand your sphere of influence and get old business out of the way. Old habits and ways of reacting can be shed. Once more, an emotional declaration surprises you, but psychically you know what is going on now and are intuitively ready to act.
This is a very psychic night when the veil between worlds is very thin. This would be a possible time the Druids celebrated Samhain as it is the New Moon. Others think it occurred on the Full Moon. However, since the holiday is based on the veil being thinnest and protecting yourself from wandering spirits, it makes more sense that it was celebrated during the New Moon when things were at their darkest rather than during the Full Moon when you could see pretty clearly. It is definitely not October 31st because they didn’t use our calendar. They used a lunar marking, 4 major solar events, not the current Gregorian Calendar introduced in 1582. Another point in favor of the New Moon is the lighting of bonfires on hilltops to brighten the landscape, something not needed during the Full Moon.

Deck: Healing with the Fairies.
The Faeries say:
The blocks associated with awakening your true self are in place because you haven’t solved the problems of your old self. Meditation is favored.
.

Today’s Cat Comfort Card is :
The Cat’s Out of the Bag: “Oops! Quick thinking needed!”

Deck: The Fairies’ Oracle by Brian Froud & Jessica MacBeth
Today’s Faery Finder is on the lookout for:
We find ourselves facing the Guardian of the Gate quite appropriately on this dark night of the Moon. Some people fear him because he will test you and even knock you back to square one. However, his job is to make certain you don’t advance from one stage of life and spirituality to the next until you are really ready. It is a thankless job because everyone seems to want to get to the end of the journey and not enjoy the journey. Life is the journey.

Today’s Lo Shu Number is 8 and the Element is Wood. The Ox finds conflict today. Today is not an auspicious day for haircuts, medical procedures, writing, gambling, construction or births.

Today’s Message from the Universe is: “I recognize the Divine Self in each and everyone. I let go of all judgment. I am receptive to the highest and the best in all. I love and acknowledge everyone as the expression of the Divine Will on earth.” Annie Marquier creating a world of peace one thought at a time.

COMMENTARIES BY JANICE SCOTT-REEDER
Josephina is helping me write today. She has not a white hair on her huge black body. Her eyes are a pale yellow with a bright green corona around the pupil. She shines like fine satin. She also weighs a ton. Right now she is cleaning between every toe. Josephine is a very clean and very neat cat. She is a lady. However, the word graceful is not used in the dame sentence with her. Instead of jumping down like a cat, she just plops, taking everything in her path with her. She causes more destruction than an earthquake.
I have my costume hanging up to straighten it out. It fits well but is way too long. That’s what happens when you are short. I will probably hem the front up so I don’t trip and break my neck at the Witches’ Ball. My poor hat that came with it is a different story. I’ve been trying to get the point to stick up and have finally given up. I shall just be the crooked witch. I have to come up with some way of getting it to stay on my head. It is just a tad too small so I am thinking a discrete chin strap or some hair clips. I finally put my hat on to thwart Josephina’s efforts to get the black feathers and she is standing up on my shoulder reaching for them. She is not long for this room. She went away from temptation just in time to save herself from exile. However, I definitely know I have to have a chin strap or something. This thing is just balancing on my head, not fitting.
Nothing else is ready because it is just too darned hot to do anything. We just broke the record for having 12 days above 90 in October. Global Warming? What ever gave you that idea? A cold front is supposed to push through on Saturday night and bring our temps down to high normal…not really normal….high normal. We’ll take it!
