Forecast and Faery Finder for 09-25-08: The Lace Reader and Pre-evolution of Cats

09-25-08
FORECASTS:
Deck: Navigators Tarot of the Mystic Sea.
Today’s Tarot Card is the King of Pentacles: motivation. Motivation is the key and you’ve probably heard that so much you want to scream. It is true. Find what motivates you and use it to attain the goals you set.

Astrological Source: Llewellyn’s 2007 Daily Planetary Guide.
Astrologically, it’s another one of those days. Old hurts and pains surface to teach us a lesson but all the succeed in doing is providing us with an energy that prevents us from moving forward. Rise above them. By afternoon, we are ready to blow and it won’t take but a small insult -which we probably misinterpreted - to our egos to get the response. Then we really know we are in the pea soup of all fogs. Intuition and psychic flashes keep hitting but they are not telling us what we want to hear. Stay still, look at the intuition and remove emotion from your reaction. Then, and only then, will you know what is being given to you.

Deck: Healing with the Fairies.
The Faeries say there are blocks in the area of parenting and children today. This may refer to your human children, who with Mercury now retrograde, you just can’t seem to communicate with. It may be your furry, scaly or feathered children. And it may be your guides and guardians trying to get through to you.

Today’s Cat Comfort card is Sophisticat. “Steep yourself in culture. Learn one new thing today.”
Deck: The Fairies’ Oracle by Brian Froud & Jessica MacBeth
Today’s Faery Finder is on the lookout for Tobaira of the Waters. This faery is the guardian of all healing wells and waters. She is the true queen of the path to Avalon. Remember, faery waters reflect the emotional state of the humans that surround them. In faery land water is emotion. So the stresses of the modern world may negate the power of healing waters that were so powerful in previous years, before the tourist stands, restaurants and hotels moved in next door. The faeries try to purify the waters but they need our help. When I was in Argentina I was surprised at the number of Japanese flocking to this out of the way healing bath as I am certain they have such places closer to home. Now I understand why. Now I understand why I felt little fingers massaging me during and after the bath when I was laid out on the bench. I actually thought they had a masseuse because my eyes were covered but they didn’t. They have faeries and salamanders. The bath is fed from underground volcanic springs. Tobaira speaks to us of a change in emotions and sometimes of health. We choose how we face these challenges.
Today’s Lo Shu Number is 8 and the element is earth. Dogs find conflict today.

Today’s Message from the Universe is: “”Humility is now in my heart, opening the door to wisdom, true power and peace.
I now allow the love, peace and simplicity of my Soul to shine through.” Annie Marquier creating a world of peace one thought at a time.
COMMENTARIES BY JANICE SCOTT-REEDER
I finally finished what has to be the best book of the season in fiction last night: The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry. I hope that went on the list of names you will never give a child. It grabs you on page one and doesn’t let go. Yes, you get confused and the author commits what was the number one sin in writing class - changing voices - but by the end -which you will never guess - you know why she did it and all becomes clear, kind of like a lace reading. You totally understand the confusion you felt. The author, on her blog, made it clear that she chose lace reading because it is the one form of reading she was absolutely certain did not exist. It also presents a really realistic view of the psychic particularly when the main character after accidentally tuning into someone says she can’t understand why anyone would want to do this for a living. Set in Salem, the detail is so carefully crafted you feel like the seasons are changing and you are falling into the story. Just when you are certain you know the characters and understand them, you get the lesson we all learn sooner or later, you never really know someone. Buy it! You are going to love it and if you don’t get it, read it again.
As to the Kitwits latest adventure, let’s just say I threatened to skin all but Napoleon, who was asleep by my side in bed, at 3 AM. and that is all I am saying until I cool down.
I did discover that cat evolution doesn’t follow the path Darwin thought it did. Supposedly you evolve physical traits through natural selection to meet the changing demands of your environment. Thus, cats like Lady Jayne, evolved huge furry paws to walk in the desert where they originated. They became dominant because they could run faster and catch dinner. Not so, as I discovered last night. I cooked a tuna fillet for the cats in the microwave. Well, they were throwing themselves at it and trying to get into the tuna and it was just a matter of time before they found the release mechanism so I opened it up, smashed the fillet and burned my little fingers getting it to the floor on the plate. Cats were burning their noses, tongues and paws right and left. Lady Jayne was sitting to the side, reaching over and fishing a piece out and shoving it under her ample furry belly to cool with nary a single burn. She comes equipped with oven mitts. So that evolutionary path actually awaiting the human invention of microwaves so she could get more food than the competition. I think it is called pre-evolution.
