I remember the first time I saw evidence of this Faery. I was around three or four, living at my grandmother’s and having the worst of nightmares and sicknesses including a bout with rheumatic fever. Overnight, the sugar had been spilled all over the counter and my mother was having a fit that the mice had gotten into it and now she had to throw it out. Money was tight and sugar was expensive. I kept saying those weren’t mouse prints because they had no toes or claws. Grandma came in and agreed with me and asked about my nightmares. They were little hoof prints and the sugar she had walked in was scooped up, taken outside and left for her beyond the property boundaries which 2.5 acres away in the snow was no picnic of a walk. My nightmares went away. Dorcha shows us the dark side of ourselves, the dark side of the night and within it lurks both madness and enlightenment. She always presents riddles and nothing is ever straightforward. So you must ask yourself what the Universe is showing you when she drops into your life.

What a night. I awoke at around 3 AM hearing this scabbing sound thinking someone was breaking into the house. I was reaching under the pillow for the gun wondering why me when I realized the sound was coming from my stomach. It was that loud! Then I redoubled the why me’s. I am supposed to be over the flu. By all that is holy this cannot be happening again. About five minutes later I learned the error of my thinking.I think washing the Vanwitch really did me in but does she ever shine. Cats instinctively know what you need. I woke up to find Purrbah, the Kitwit, stretched out along my spine. He is so long he covers the whole area. That was the most wonderful feeling you can imagine. If those hot patch guys would make one that sticks on down your spine they would make a mint! Of course, I had to get up. As soon as the heat die down, I knew what I had done to myself and was in the bottle for an ibuprophen. Then that make me drowsy and sluggish so I get to fight the back ache and the results of the drug. Makes me wonder why anyone would willingly take drugs for recreation. Add the cold weather and I am creeping around the shop like an old lady. This, too, shall pass.Going back over Thursday and Friday’s forecast I realized, I lost another day. This has got to stop. I get the forecast right for the right the day, I just mislabel the day of the week. This has got to stop!

He sure isn’t something you would send out to check travel arrangement - shudder! Remember that plane in river. He would forget to tell you you weren’t on the tarmac just prior to disembarking. He is the trickster. He tricks you into thinking those wild ideas are really yours. You really can do that. You suddenly find yourself in the middle of creative chaos and the operative word is chaos. He is totally unreliable and if you can’t discover new things about yourself and get yourself out of the mess, he tells you there is a bottle of booze under the counter. Why not? I can think of a few dozen reasons including the problem will still be there when you sober up and now you will have a headache and nausea, too. You will then hear his shrill laughter which helps neither condition and he is off to his next victim. So beware and be practical. We let ours live in the huge sign post outside so they can torment anyone who tries to harm the shop and vans. They seem to really like that arrangement and the Pixies and Faeries keep them in line. Hey, if you can’t beat them, join them. No matter how many times they go home with people, they always show back up here a week or two later. The people they go home with seldom if ever show back up here, though. J - Yes, that’s why George wouldn’t let you help with the front area…he knows they are there. They are attracted to brightly painted toe nails. I found that out the hard way.

Well, that's one business I will not be going into: van washing. I got one of those extending brush things. Where is Arnold when you need him??? That thing is heavy! I managed to wash all but the top (cannot reach even with the extending brush) of the Vanwitch and can barely lift my arms. She is one big girl! Now she is air drying because this woman can barely move.
Do they make van driers???
George can wash his own van!
I had Purrbah, the Kitwit, in bed with me all night. Everything on him long, including his claws and toes and tongue. He is a finger licker. All night he wrapped himself around my arm, grabbed my thumb and licked. I think that tongue can even clean under your nails! When I tried to leave - stupid - he jumped out of bed and wrapped himself around my leg in a position I have only seen a toy poodle take. I tried walking and he came with me like some kind of a demented stocking. Finally this morning Napoleon traded places with him.
Last night we were discussing on a Yahoo board selling haunted items. Folks, if you pay hundreds of dollars for a haunted item, you really need to have your head examined. Most people who have haunted items either want to get rid of them or wouldn’t part with them for the world. I have auctioned a few off with the warning that there were no returns - no way - do not ever want to see this thing again. One was a glass pendant looked pretty but you really felt someone was watching you. I took a picture of it and though I could not see it, the digital camera produced a perfect little red eye looking out of it. Best wishes to whoever bought that thing. Another was a series of weird scarves that you just could not contain and I didn’t have the shop cats at that time. I would put it in the glass display case and the next morning it was gone. It would turn up in weird locations. Not a single one of those items went for over fifty dollars. The Voodoo Queen of New Orleans did not have any relatives that lived down here unless they lived in the showroom of my favorite jewelry wholesaler in Orlando. J Yes, I know all the suppliers, I do own a store. I know the merchandise.
No one needs to cleanse your money. If it is cursed, just take it to the bank and exchange it for some new money. If you are cursed, a legitimate psychic will not charge you thousands of dollars but point you in the right direction for baths, some Feng Shui cures and maybe a few, less than ten dollar, candles. If it’s a curse you want, just remember, when you fail to make the payments for the rest of your life, you will be on their list! And if it is a love spell, keep in mind no one is happy in cage no matter how lovely it is and keeping a caged animal is a lot of work. In ten years, you may be trying to get rid of the person and not be able to do it. Love spells are best done by the person desiring love because you have more invested in it making it more powerful. And those are my sage words of advice for the weekend! Take them or leave them. Don’t bother me one bit which way you go! Just don’t ask for credit after someone takes your life savings because I’m going to ask for cash in advance. My mommy didn’t raise stupid kids.

Last night I decided to do a little bedroom cleaning. This morning in came Napoleon, got a panicked look on his face and started acting like a search and rescue dog. For a few minutes I could not figure out what was wrong and then I remember I had not seen the new Fur Rat in a few days. I just have moved something over the location he hid it in. He is still looking and even brought Josephina in to help. Believe me, Josephina can find anything. She is so cute wandering around the house with the little plastic golf ball hooked on a fang. Amid my clean up I discovered I had a plastic bell ball in bed with me. It is no wonder I have aches and pains in the morning. I never know what I am going to discover I have slept on the previous night.

What is the purpose of ritual? It makes you comfortable. It allows you to skip steps because your mind already leaps into the right mode. My little ritual is a bowl of soup before I do the forecast. I like a hot as in peppers soup. It started out as a way to break up the constant concrete in my sinus and then became a diet aid. Even a really light soup lets me arrive home with feeling like jumping the refrigerator and eating everything in site or worse, finding the sweets. Now, it also serves to get me in the right mood to start writing.
Start your own little ritual but never let them get too fixed. I knew a gal who had a really fixed ritual of getting up and brushing her teeth. One weekend at a conference, she realized there was no toothbrush. She was a total mess. Her whole day went off kilter because her teeth kept reminding her she hadn’t started the day yet. Finally after having enough of a laugh I told her the hotel keeps toothbrushes at the desk. Yes, some days I am little evil but I wanted to prove just how set in her ways she had become. I don’t need the soup to write but it gives me time to get my thoughts together and slow down. Then again, I can just meditate or pet the cat. Always give yourself an alternative.
Ritual in Magick causes your mind to make the leap to the place where all things are possible and your thoughts, brain rhythms, slow down. Ritual are usually something out of the ordinary so you don’t slip in a good theta state on the expressway some afternoon and splatter yourself like a bug on a windshield. They have to be able to create a new pathway in the brain. In Kim Harrison’s books the main character, a witch, must learn each spell and ritual so that starting the spell triggers the whole involved process without actually doing the whole process. That helps when a demon is breathing down your neck and you don’t have time to cast a proper circle. How do you achieve proficiency? The same way you get to Carnegie Hall: practice, practice, PRACTICE!
Even those of us who already got there have to go back and do the whole thing is we haven’t worked a particular spell in a long time. What is the purpose of ritual? It makes you comfortable. It allows you to skip steps because your mind already leaps into the right mode. My little ritual is a bowl of soup before I do the forecast. I like a hot as in peppers soup. It started out as a way to break up the constant concrete in my sinus and then became a diet aid. Even a really light soup lets me arrive home with feeling like jumping the refrigerator and eating everything in site or worse, finding the sweets. Now, it also serves to get me in the right mood to start writing.
Start your own little ritual but never let them get too fixed. I knew a gal who had a really fixed ritual of getting up and brushing her teeth. One weekend at a conference, she realized there was no toothbrush. She was a total mess. Her whole day went off kilter because her teeth kept reminding her she hadn’t started the day yet. Finally after having enough of a laugh I told her the hotel keeps toothbrushes at the desk. Yes, some days I am little evil but I wanted to prove just how set in her ways she had become. I don’t need the soup to write but it gives me time to get my thoughts together and slow down. Then again, I can just meditate or pet the cat. Always give yourself an alternative.

Ritual are usually something out of the ordinary so you don’t slip in a good theta state on the expressway some afternoon and splatter yourself like a bug on a windshield. At seven in the morning, Napoleon must come in to use the kitty pan and then he must leave. This means I have to get back up and let him out. Then he comes in around noon to lay on my lap and claim he is a good boy. I am falling for that again.
A new order arrived and UPS is starting to wonder how I know they are there. Cameras, not psychic ability, are involved.
I still have the stomach flu making it hard to even get to the Post Office. I really hope this stuff leaves soon.
Bitwit’s nose was totally out of joint because I forgot to give her a welcoming kiss upon arrival. That is just another side effect of this flu. I can’t remember what I am doing one minute to the next. The rest of them, you really don’t want to know about.
I know some people have asked why it is getting harder and harder to find inexpensive supplies and certain brands. One of our largest suppliers in the Voodoo, Hoodoo and Santeria world and also some Wiccan products, broke their company apart. At first it wasn’t a problem because the retail split from the wholesale. Then the two wholesale partners split, closed a branch and to be truthful, we don’t know what is happening. They were the largest manufacturer and importer of oils, incense and image candles. One branch seems to only have a single phone that is on busy and the other has disappeared and all we know is the product line has been split up between them. We have no idea who has what or even where.
Then there was economics. When the shipping costs went through the roof, combined with an ailing economy, we began waiting to place large orders and only when absolutely necessary. This impacted our suppliers, some of which are going under. So, things will get more scarce and they will also get more expensive. If you can, order what you use a lot of right now as it may not exist by the end of the year. Consult your practitioner for information on what you need.

Sorry if I misled anyone into thinking I was getting over the flu. Today’s menu has been two cans of soup as my stomach refused even oatmeal. This is one mean bug. Even Lenuxx deserted me last night. Oh well, Monday is my day off and I am taking it off to rest. As soon as I finish this, I am back to bed.A new Service Rep at AMEX was able to correct the mistake immediately, even with their system wide failures. Did all this incompetence on their part impact my credit. You bet it did! The report of me being late with a payment, even though I offered originally to send them another payment until they could correct the mistake, is already posted along with a notice that my credit was suspended. You just can’t win with these credit card companies even when you do everything right.

Well, the flu refuses to leave. It is starting to be like week old fish. George came down with it last night. I really thought I was getting better and then spent the night turning the air on and off as I froze and over-heated. I must give Lenuxx credit. He stayed with me the whole night.
Nothing quite ruins your morning, or any other time of day, than the toilet overflowing. At least in my case, it totally flushes and then it backs up so you have clear water all over the floor. So as I am trying to ignore the pain my back from lifting the indoor-outdoor shop vac and get the water sucked up, Prescious decides it is the perfect time to reclaim the toilet lid since all the other cats have run from the water. And that was how I really sprained my back!
All is back to normal and I am planning a nice dinner of stuffed pork chops. I managed to scare the beegeebees out of another man at the Costco gas pump. Guys, I really can drive this van. I know exactly what my turn points are, my turning radius and my mirrors are the best you can get. You can stop throwing yourself on your bumpers trying to protect them. I have no intention of scratching the Vanwitch’s paint job. You don’t behave that way on the rare occasions George is driving and if I were you…I really, really would.
Speaking of that, for two days I had to take the Acclaim to the shop while George took the Vanwitch and the Red Vanwitch got new tires and ball joints. The first day, I pulled out and got out of the Acclaim to see if all four tires were flat. They weren’t. The second day, I am pushing on the pedal and nothing is happening. The engine isn’t even revving. Then I discovered that I am used to the high pedals on the Vanwitch and the only high pedal in the Acclaim is the brake pedal which I am pushing on. How quickly I have become spoiled. I drove the Acclaim for close to five years.

Well, the flu refuses to leave. It is starting to be like week old fish. George came down with it last night. I really thought I was getting better and then spent the night turning the air on and off as I froze and over-heated. I must give Lenuxx credit. He stayed with me the whole night.
Nothing quite ruins your morning, or any other time of day, than the toilet overflowing. At least in my case, it totally flushes and then it backs up so you have clear water all over the floor. So as I am trying to ignore the pain my back from lifting the indoor-outdoor shop vac and get the water sucked up, Prescious decides it is the perfect time to reclaim the toilet lid since all the other cats have run from the water. And that was how I really sprained my back!
All is back to normal and I am planning a nice dinner of stuffed pork chops. I managed to scare the beegeebees out of another man at the Costco gas pump. Guys, I really can drive this van. I know exactly what my turn points are, my turning radius and my mirrors are the best you can get. You can stop throwing yourself on your bumpers trying to protect them. I have no intention of scratching the Vanwitch’s paint job. You don’t behave that way on the rare occasions George is driving and if I were you…I really, really would.
Speaking of that, for two days I had to take the Acclaim to the shop while George took the Vanwitch and the Red Vanwitch got new tires and ball joints. The first day, I pulled out and got out of the Acclaim to see if all four tires were flat. They weren’t. The second day, I am pushing on the pedal and nothing is happening. The engine isn’t even revving. Then I discovered that I am used to the high pedals on the Vanwitch and the only high pedal in the Acclaim is the brake pedal which I am pushing on. How quickly I have become spoiled. I drove the Acclaim for close to five years.

I am getting over the flu as it warms up. Last night I only had Lenuxx in bed with me as a testament to the increasing temperatures. Ah, ‘winter’ in South Florida! Our Bitwit is growing up. She gets into less and less trouble, though Isis’ tail is still her favorite toy.
I arrived at the shop to meet the complaint committee. Seems George forgot to fill the birdbath and the feathered contingency sent the Mockingbird after me. Those of you familiar with Mockingbirds know you just don’t argue with them. They will peck you.
The display has mostly come down, or at least the snowmen have come down. The deer are staying. I still have the colored lights to get down but it has turned cloudy and is threatening rain so I decided to work on inside things.
Thanks to the new Afrin with menthol - that is soooooo nice - my head finally unstopped without the aid of a jackhammer at midnight and now I am no longer feeling like I have concrete in my sinuses. Bending over is still a no-no unless I want to just continue to flat on my face. The nose is running but the throat is at least to the point I can talk instead of squeak. The chicken soup is still flowing.

Another cure for a sore throat is to make a hot cup of tea and cut a slice of lemon. Then mush the lemon making sure you mush the rind into the tea. It really works. A Jewish friend at the Miami Herald taught me that one when I was so sick I could barely hold my head up and was hitting a deadline like a brick wall. Those old Jewish remedies work except for the swallowing hot grease with onion and vinegar in it for pneumonia. I am not doing that one! As far as I am concerned, that is salad dressing.

To insure a year of prosperity, create your own little Ekeko out of clay. He looks like a pot-bellied little man with a open mouth and mustache. He needs a hat, poncho and loads of little baskets. Fill the baskets with symbols of the prosperity you want to manifest this year. Just a little hint - traditionally they put candy in his baskets. You might want to avoid that if your goal is also weight loss and having teeth by the end of the year. To activate the god, you are supposed to place a lighted cigarette in his mouth after placing him in a place of honor and then let the cigarette burn down according to Lily Gardner. Another cold night and Napoleon wisely deserted me. I should have left me. Prescious, my constant companion now that he has lost a fang, showed up as expected. Then in came Linux. Now Linux had joined me yesterday morning and I actually thought I had Mr. BoBo in one of his many forays into the bedroom where he discovers he is the wrong room and has to leave right after you settle in and get comfortable. Mr. BoBo is a little senile. Linux is what I call a Power Biscuiter. Let me explain. Cats tend to knead when they get comfortable as they are reverting back to their kittenhood and nursing. He kneads at about 60 mph and can actually bruise you. Well, he started kneading and Prescious started purring in time to the kneading, as only one cat is permitted to purr at a time for some reason - they are probably union - and between them, they almost pushed me out of the bed until Prescious, being the older, finally choked, falling over on Linux and stopping the cycle. Until 5 AM, the two of them took turns waking me up by pushing me out of the bed until I threw both of them out of the room. Sometimes, you can just be loved too much!We had to get the Red Vanwitch new tires and my mechanic remembered he had forgotten to give us the radio that went in her. Radio??? George now has a radio and CD player, power locks and windows, and remote access. I have a radio. So I thought to even things up I would look at the price to replace the radio with a CD player. After I came to, I decided that was way down the line. Over 500.00 for a radio and CD player!!! What are these people thinking? Don’t even try to tell me it cost that much. I think that is about a 500.00 markup! Ford had a better idea and I didn’t even get a kiss. I can get one on Ebay for less than half the price that is still out of range for a poor psychic with a gaggle of meows to support.Flu, allergies, I know not which but the effect is the same so all typos are due to my eyes being swollen half shut and my brain on one quarter speed.

Last night it was COLD. The smartest cat proved to Purrbah. He crawled into the hole in the cat tree and made himself a warm little nest even though his legs hung out. He is so big. I was snagged every time I passed the tree. Prescious and Napoleon chose to sleep with me. I really should have said on me. The rest snuggled up where ever they found a good spot. I warmed the house as best I could with the oven and space heater but both had to go off when I went to bed.
When I awoke, I heard this crunching as I tried to get up and froze. My futon is wood and over 15 years old. I could just see myself impaled on a broken board so I started to creep to the edge only to discover it wasn’t the futon making that horrible sound. It was my bones! Not only that, but it hurt. I guess I am going to have to stay in the tropics as cold weather no longer agrees with me.
As to the latest from AMEX, I finally reached someone who speaks English in customer service and she said she could fix it. So, naturally we both asked - aren’t your computers down. She said they were having system wide failures but that wasn’t a problem. The problem was the first person had entered I wanted a refund from George’s account rather than a transfer to my account which should take place in 24 - 48 hours. When I get this resolved, I am deleting George’s account from the banking system. Then again, we will see if it really is resolved this time….

I am spitting mad. Let me admit that I am at fault in the first half of this. I have an American Express Corporate Account and my husband works for a company that has one in his name. The two accounts sit side by side in the Bank’s electronic payment system. Life is much easier if you pay via your bank because you have running total of how much money is about to leave your account rather than chancing you forgot a bill and getting a nasty surprise. So, I decided last month to pay AMEX through my bank. Like an idiot, I clicked on his account rather than mine to pay and the money went to his account not mine. So, I called them and they assured me if I would just put my husband on the phone, they would fix it. NO PROBLEM. Well, I had to close my store and go get him off the roof. We talked to the account representative and I asked, should I go ahead and pay the bill a second time…NOOOoooo.. All will be taken care of. Today I received a letter stating they could not do it, sorry for inconvenience and ruining your credit. They didn’t say the latter but it just happened. So, I called. I get another gentleman who goes to his supervisor and they tell him to have me and my husband on the line and they will fix it INSTANTLY. I interrupt George at work, on an rush project, and get a three way call with AMEX set up and finally get to Customer Service and we get the following answer…”We are having system wide problems. You will have to call back in an hour.” I had talked to them less than 3 minutes earlier and they weren‘t having a single problem.Now, this is a large bill and I have to pay out and equal amount to bail the Red Vanwitch out of the shop this afternoon. I am hanging, not knowing if I have to wait for a check to come to him from AMEX, which I am pretty darned sure they have not yet issued because the money is still showing on his account and don’t know when they will issue it, or if it will be fixed if they get their computer system on line or whether this is just another delaying technique. If you can possibly avoid it, never get mixed up with this company or any other credit card company for that matter. Oh, by the way, this is not a credit account. The balance is paid in full every month and I have never been late in 5 years once, even in the middle of a hurricane. Still, I get treated like brown, smelly stuff by them. Anyone wonder why they are going under?Bitwit has a new game. I call it Bitwit in the Box. She jumps in the bathroom sink and hides. When you come up to the edge, she jumps out at you. As Jay Leno said last night, “We are finally going to hear the four words we have waited 8 years to hear: ex-president George Bush!” Now, let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work. I like to make my Sundays as quiet as possible as it is the one day of the week the shop is closed and I can kick back and relax. Even the cats seem to know it is a day for rest and I find the bed full of furry purries.Now that I have concluded the Bitwit and Kitwits are going to eat anything I do, it has led to new discoveries. They like pancakes and syrup…do not forget the syrup. They drink coffee and lemonade. They eat broccoli - RAW! They love pizza of all varieties. I have no idea why I bother buying cat food.I’ve reached the point where just about everything I own is at least five years old and in need of replacement, including some parts of me. I really need to win the lotto but I guess I have to break down and buy a ticket for that. The list keeps getting bigger. I now know I need a new office chair. After a couple of hours of entering products on the computer, my back was killing me and continued to do so all night.I’m not whining but in addition to the standard Novocain not working on my teeth I have now discovered the twilight sleep stuff doesn’t work that well either and is ill-advised. Seems doctors get touchy when you try to beat the crap out of them under anesthesia. So, I am left with the need for four root canals, a mouth full of fillings and a constant tooth ache and no way to get it fixed. No one is willing to touch me. Insurance certainly isn’t going to pay for full anesthesia in the hospital. That Lotto ticket is starting to look like a retirement plan and dental insurance to me….

So, I am left with the need for four root canals, a mouth full of fillings and a constant tooth ache and no way to get it fixed. No one is willing to touch me. Insurance certainly isn’t going to pay for full anesthesia in the hospital. That Lotto ticket is starting to look like a retirement plan and dental insurance to me….

About 15 years ago, we ran a Alien Abduction Support Group and I must say, we had a wonderful group and fantastic meetings that went way beyond just abductions. One night we had a party and watched all the pictures coming back from Mars. It was great. Then about 8 years ago, I started getting harassing calls from another business and a rehab center. I had long since closed the group and now I had to make certain all mention of it was removed from everywhere, which I diligently did. The calls did not stop. Our security guard carefully logs them and their phone numbers in over night though he can get a little testy when his nap is interrupted. You have no idea how testy I get in the day time when I get these idiots screaming obscenities or just plain being crazy on the phone. They are all coming from members of an alcohol and drug rehab group in Boynton Beach.Why I am bringing this up is a lovely internet show: kevinsmithshow -you know how to add the right little three letters to the front and back - has been harassed horribly and almost taken down by a ring on teenagers and other nutcases. His 800 number has been swamped and every call, whether answered or not, costs you with one of them. There is no excuse for this behavior and he really needs donations and an audience. I already emptied was left in my Paypal account and admittedly it was laughable but I know every penny counts. Anyway, go out to his website, listen to his program and generally give him some support. Tell him Janice and George sent you. And if you harass him, I will guarantee a plague of fleas, impotence and a nasty Pixie induced rash. This Druid is not playing nice any more.Now for the plague of fleas, I mean cats. Last night, Bitwit drug the camera off the dock and stole an amethyst bracelet and hid them under the bed. She has good taste.

It’s getting cold tonight….into the 40’s. I know some of you are laughing at that and saying you wish is was that warm. Still, all the outside plants had to be watered. It doesn’t look like my little John the Conqueror liked last and it was only in the 50’s. I watered him really heavy and hope for the best. If it doesn’t happen, I will pull him up and see if I have a tuber tomorrow.
Bitwit and Paganwit and crew had another family visit over a warm can of cat food. However, no invitations to come in the shop were issued and Bitwit is now sleeping on the cash register.
I was relaxing with my cup of coffee off to side and Napoleon on my lap when I noticed the lovely purring was going - purr - hesitate - purr - hesitate. So, I looked down to see what was wrong and discovered it should have been purr - slurp - purr - slurp as his head was now in my coffee cup. I have to remember he has grown up and has a much, much farther reach now.

Today’s Faery Finder is on the lookout for the Oak Men. Being a Druid, the Oak Men are my favorites in the fae kingdoms. They are often found only in the deepest part of the forest or sometimes, they hide in your local Druid’s oak trees. They can be very frightening until you get to know them. A bit of time spent under their spreading limbs can cause you to emerge with new knowledge or just a nice nap. We have always thought that if Buddha had picked an oak instead of a Bodhi tree, he would have come out from under much sooner but that is just a Druid thought. If you are ever lost in the woods, seek out an oak and ask for help. You will see little pointers as to the way out or to shelter if you have ventured too far in. If you just relax. They don’t want you in their grove any more than you want to be there.

I have been trying to figure out how I managed to get the Kitwits addicted to coffee. Cats do not normally even want to taste coffee though I have had a few olive eaters. Then I remembered something about feral cat behavior. Feral kittens are taught to only eat or drink what their mother eats or drinks. It is a survival mechanism which seems to gone while with old Moon Probe outside. She had a full grown baby boy following her around asking permission to eat and a several month old brother to Kitwit still nursing. She was spayed and the older baby was neutered. No one can catch the one we call Paganwit. Well, I took them home when they were around three or four weeks old and I became the Mommy. So they began to eat and drink everything they saw me eating and drinking. When they saw that cup of coffee on the nightstand, it had to be good and they started drinking coffee. Now they are addicted. This also means I often catch a flying Kitwit in midair trying to land in my plate of food. Actually, that usually happens a couple of time a day. We had quite breakthrough. When I arrived at the shop, Paganwit and his keeper, Howler, were at the front waiting for me and hungry. So, when I came in I had left the door open since there were no office cats to be seen. They were all sound asleep on the cat tree. By the time I got the cat for them, Paganwit was four feet into the shop looking around and he spied his sister, Bitwit. Well, Bitwit came to the door when he ran out but stopped on the threshold. She is a civilized cat. She is not stepping into some unknown dirty place and she just sat there waiting until he came up and touched noses with her. You should have seen the ‘royal’ look she gave him. You just knew he was some grungy alley cat she might allow into the shop if he behaved himself. Then she turned and gave him the royal tail flick, dismissing him from her audience. Just think, a month ago, she was grungy little alley kitten letting George carry her into the shop for a can of food. Now she is a princess shop cat with her own attendant: Isis and loyal subjects: me and George.

I wish you could have seen the Bitwit. George opened the can of food and then placed it top down in food bowl. She was hugging the bowl at one point trying to get to the food until I cracked the whip and made him flip it for her. Then she stood on her hind legs and danced and begged. Now, she can’t be that hungry because there was food in the other dish and even some sour cream.Folks, could I ask a favor of you? When you come into a parking lot, do not snuggle up next to commercial vans. Yes, we are better drivers that most because we are driving a huge monster but it is really had to turn them and back them. Because of the solid sides, it is hard to see where you going. I am lucky that I have the latest mirrors (Double side mirrors that the top shows me the whole lane next to me and the bottom what is right beside me) but I still have blind spots and that doesn‘t make the Vanwitch one tad smaller. So, leave us enough room to back and swing it out of the spot.For all my fellow small merchants, pay attention. I was stopped at the PO today and told if the date on the purchase of the postage doesn’t match the mailing date they are going to return the packages. So, for those of us who pack after we close up and print postage at night or on the weekends, we have to adjust the dates of mailing or they will bring the package back to us and we get to cancel the label and start over. And yes: THAT SUCKS. The reason is it affects their performance rating. THEY HAVE A PERFORMANCE RATING? Half the time they leave me everyone and their third cousin’s mail! I’m across the street delivering mail to stores that aren’t even in my city or Zip Code!The first FAX of the new machine arrived some time today. Unfortunately I use Peachtree and not Quickbooks as it was all about Quickbooks’ seminars. Never-the-less, the Lexmark preformed great and recognized the ring tone. Back in business!We are both down with the flu. I was trying to throw myself on Vanwitch’s air conditioner vent. Goddess does she have one COLD air conditioner. George is just feeling totally funky. I’m still working though as I am going to be just as hot and feverish at home as I am at the shop. I think George went back to do roof work on the house. He said he wasn’t going to feel better in bed than he will on the roof. Isn’t that the truth?Purdy von Sweet drove me insane. George had ground the coffee and thought we were out of filters. So, he drove to the shop to get filters not knowing I had two boxes sitting right there. Well, he didn’t open the grinder so Purdy didn’t get her ground coffee and she was insane. She wrapped her whole body around my arm and screamed. I had no idea what was going and went out to discover there was no coffee. So I ground more and she flung herself on the grinder. Until I dumped it in the filter I didn’t know what he had done and had to spoon excess coffee out and of course, Purdy was covered in coffee grounds which she then had to lick off. I hope she has settled down by now. She got a triple dose today of caffeine. The other three Kitwits are civilized. They take their coffee brewed with a heavy dose of coffee creamer.

The Kitwit, Napoleon, has me totally wrapped around his little claw. No other cat gets to sleep on my head, exemption for knocking everything in the Universe down and can purr quite so fast. I guess because he was the first one I rescued and he slept in my hand over my heart that first night, he has become a really baby and he knows it. Then again, maybe it is because black and whites always look so clean and their pink tongues are such a cute contrast to the tuxedo. Then again, may be it is some kind of cat spell. I know Bitwit has George wrapped around her little paw and gets whatever she wants even fed at 5:30 in the morning. Heck, he wouldn’t get me coffee at that time in the morning! She gets a whole can of cat food. I guess we must face the facts: we are cat slaves.I have finally finished Blond Roots and when it comes out, you must read it. It is a finely crafted tale of what the world would have been like if Europeans had been slaves and Africans the masters done ala “Roots”. It is one of the vest pieces of writing I have seen in ages!There are days when I am certain that somehow, some people just don’t have enough to do. Given a choice between cursing someone and doing a money spell for myself, get out the green candles! I have always believed living well is the best revenge. But still people continue to seek harm to others. Wouldn’t their lives be better if they were seeking better things for themselves? Doesn’t the thought that if you are constantly focusing on harm, the Universe is going to think you like harm and heap it a plenty upon your head ever cross their pea brains? Doesn’t it ever cross their brains they are going to run into someone more experienced, powerful or just plain skilled and then the Universe is going to turn into brown sticky smelly stuff for them really fast and really permanently? Apparently: not. Well, you just got the heads up on that one. I want all my customers to be rich, happy and healthy so they can buy readings a plenty from me and be able to pay for them. The only way I prosper is if the people I am servicing prosper. Pain, poverty and despair doesn’t make anyone rich and that should be obvious. Take Madoff…there is always a bigger shark in the water somewhere….Now you might say, “What on earth could be his justification for doing that to people?” It’s simple. There was no way on the planet anyone could promise and deliver returns like he did doing anything legal. So, his victims had to know he was operating illegally and thus they were giving him a license to steal. What they didn’t realize was; they were the marks. It’s the same justification every conman uses. Unfortunately for the ones who have attacked me, there was no such justification and hence the karmic payback will be a female dog. Now who will get the Karmic payback for the innocent people who counted on other investment counselors to be doing their jobs when they were really just handing money to Madoff will be an interesting lesson in payback. I’m certain there will be plenty to spread around. There always is with fertilizer.

Although the forecast is for Monday, Sunday is my day of rest and work. One thing a woman learns early in her life is that her day off is nothing more than a change of venue for work. Even the Bitwit is laying on the tree snoozing for most of the day. The some what good news is she who is computer inept managed to set up the FAX machine through the printer so once again, we have a FAX!
There are few feeling quite as satisfying as finally managing to catch and squish the mosquito that has been biting you all weekend. Ahhhhhh!

I have my first work related injury. I know you are asking, “How exactly can a psychic get injured on the job?” I am blaming it on the Mouse though George says I can’t. Bitwit says it is always the mouse’s fault. Anyway, my wrist tends to rest too near the edge of the computer desk and now I have a nicely inflamed round bump right at the wrist which causes pain all the way to the elbow. Fortunately, I am a classically trained pianist and not typist. Hence I can type my 80 wpm without really moving my wrist that much. But it sure is annoying when you are trying to go to sleep and stay asleep. Bad night last night!Apparently even Bitwit had a bad night as she has slept all day on the tree. Napoleon first tried to comfort me and then traded off with Purrbah who washed my fingers. That didn’t help me but it seemed to relax him. Then Precious tried to purr me to sleep. Yeah, like sleeping next to a saw mill is possible!!! And then Mr. BoBo came in and failing decided to just bounce on me until I got up and made him feel better with a can of cat food. Ever notice how whatever is wrong with you it revolves back around to taking care of the cat?Actually that is my second psychic related injury. One night when I was forced by the shop I was working for to work two extra hours at a party, I sprained my wrists and hands shuffling cards because I refused to take the easy way out and do half arsed readings letting the customer shuffle. Look at it from this point of view. If you can’t properly cleanse the deck between readings and you let the customers shuffle, how many different people’s influences do you have on the deck at the end of the day? I even try to cleanse my deck between people when I am doing readings at my shop and I do not let other people touch my cards. Oh, and to the people who stole my deck last year, I really hope you are enjoying the energies it brought into your lives. They won’t be leaving any time soon, if ever. J

I have my first work related injury. I know you are asking, “How exactly can a psychic get injured on the job?” I am blaming it on the Mouse though George says I can’t. Bitwit says it is always the mouse’s fault. Anyway, my wrist tends to rest too near the edge of the computer desk and now I have a nicely inflamed round bump right at the wrist which causes pain all the way to the elbow. Fortunately, I am a classically trained pianist and not typist. Hence I can type my 80 wpm without really moving my wrist that much. But it sure is annoying when you are trying to go to sleep and stay asleep. Bad night last night!Apparently even Bitwit had a bad night as she has slept all day on the tree. The days just seem jammed packed. Of course when you throw having to go to the Post Office to mail stuff because of the stupid 13 ounce rule, you understand. In case you don’t know, some bird brain determined you couldn’t make a bomb under 13 ounces so anything weighing over that amount has to be handed to a postal employee. Now, everything I am mailing has the postage generated off the postal web site where they not only have my address but my credit card number or through Paypal where they know everything about me, including my shoe size probably, but still I have to hand it to a postal employee who doesn’t know except by sight. Thank you Mr. Bush, that just makes so much sense. Did you really graduate from grammar school? I guess what they say about idiots, I mean birds flocking together is true.
The Kitwits are happy to finally be certain they have me at home. They alternate all night between who sleeps with me. They do have to have that pet before I doze off…but the Bitwit’s nose is totally out of joint. George moved things in her shop and she does not like change.
Went to Burger King, as we were too tired to do anything fancy and I still had the forecast to do, and got an Angry Whopper. It didn’t get me until the last two bites and then I must have really made it mad! Bitwit is insanely attacking us for French fries and now Loki has arrived for his cut.
