Forecast and Faery Finder
By Janice Scott-Reeder and the Bitwit

Message from the Microwits:
We rule. We slept all night with the Mamma. She didn’t even know….
Message from the Mamma:
One thing about Fall finally arriving, you need a little extra warmth. That is my only excuse for not knowing I had both Mr. B and Boogaboo on top of me all night, that and they are light weight.

According to Llewellyn’s Spell-a-Day Almanac, today’s color is silver and the incense is
Narcissus.

FORECASTS:

Deck: Navigators Tarot of the Mystic Sea.

Today’s Tarot Card is the Eight of Pentacles: economy. Save enough to sustain your needs and spend enough to shape your will. Balance is the key.

Astrological Source: Llewellyn’s 2007 Daily Planetary Guide.
Astrologically:
The only aspect today is a square to Jupiter. Expect to see some underhanded money deals come out in the afternoon. It may be a night of tossing and turning as old hurts return.

Deck: Healing with the Fairies.
The Faeries say:
Follow your dreams to find happiness.

Today’s Cat Comfort Card is :
Seacat: “Expand your horizons and your limitations will disappear.”

Deck: The Fairies’ Oracle by Brian Froud & Jessica MacBeth
Today’s Faery Finder is on the lookout for:
The UnDressing of the Salad. When these Fae appear, we may really enjoy their juggling antics but they bring a message. You have too many balls in the air and to start something new, something old has to be dropped.

Today’s Lo Shu Number is 6 and the Element is Fire. The Rabbit finds conflict today but the Rooster has ease. Today is NOT an auspicious day for haircuts, gambling or construction.

Today’s Message from the Universe is: “I am now ready to live a courageous life committed to the complete manifestation of the Divine Plan on earth. Neither difficult tasks now fear can stop me. I go forward with power and enthusiasm for God is with me and supports my every effort.” Annie Marquier creating a world of peace one thought at a time.

COMMENTARIES BY JANICE SCOTT-REEDER

. I finally found a way to get George into the kitchen to get his meal. I just tell him Napoleon is at the toaster oven trying to open it. Actually, Napoleon will get it open one day and have a feast. He has learned to open my bedroom door. Can the oven be far away?
It has been a wonderful day in South Florida. The air was cool, the humidity was low and everyone was out in their yards trying to get some work done before it warms up to hot again. It reminds me how much I really love Fall. It will be back to hot by midweek.
The first day of Fall and Lenuxx runs out the front door. He ran smack into a baby raccoon and was back in the house in a flash. With that fuzzy tail of his, he might have been adopted.
Now to the area of disgusting news and with Miami-Dade County, it just gets worse. It seems while social services are being cut right and left, employees are being laid off and taking pay cuts and the general populace is being threatened with higher taxes for minimum services, the Miami-Dade County Commissioners have 5 million dollars in their personal budgets stockpiled for aides and to run their offices. Oh, it gets worse. Every year they fully fund their budgets and have little to no restrictions on how they spend the money. Last year’s budget was $930,000.00 each. This year will see a 10% reduction. Yes, it gets worse. Their top aides earn more than 100,000.00 per year.
Now, let’s look at our state representative’s. Their annual budget is 29,794 to pay rent and utilities for their offices. Keep in mind commercial phone and electric rates are at least 2 times residential rates. They are allowed a staff of two at 40,000.00 each. They can not carry over unspent funds.
Yes, it gets worse. In addition to those funds, last year they voted themselves $727,500.00 each to give to constituents and businesses basically for votes. This year it will be reduced by 400,000.00 but my mind is still boggling on how they got the money in the first place.
Not only that, but when one commissioner over spends their budget like Barbara Jordan did last year, another can transfer funds to them, as Natacha Seijas did. Does that buy a vote for a commissioner’s pet project? We’ll never know.
This was not appropriate in the boom times and it sure is obscene in the lean times while the people who provide that money, the citizens, suffer. Now, the arguments are already whining about how we spent that money on a walk to raise funds for this and that charity. Let’s put it in perspective. You spent the funds to raise money for charities to garner votes. That puts you $930,000.00 ahead in funds each year of anyone running against you in the next election. Me bets most of that stockpiled money gets spent at the end of an election year. How are your local government officials spending your money? Sources for this article were the Miami Herald and Florida Tax Watch, a Tallahassee watchdog group.
How do we stop this? We can’t. All we can do it vote them out of office and considering they are a couple of mil up in campaign funds from our taxes on anyone we run, that seems rather unlikely.
